In its most simplistic form, Content Mapping is part of a strategic content marketing and planning methodology aimed at helping marketers create and distribute content at the right stage of a buyer’s journey on the right channels. The key to Content Mapping is aligning the right type of content (i.e. blog post, white paper, how-to-video, etc.) to the right tone (i.e. funny, serious, etc.) to the right buyer, at the right stage of the buyer journey (i.e. awareness, consideration, purchase) on the right channels (i.e. social media, owned).
